An Gáirdín Cúin

Dear Parents/Guardians

We are hoping to develop a quiet garden space at our Gaelscoil between the current vegetable beds and the main entrance. We feel it is very important to have the children's input on what this Quiet Garden, An Gáirdín Cúin, should look like. We are asking you and your child/children to discuss this Garden area to find out what the children would like to see in this space. Together with your child/children could you put your drawings/ideas on an A4 piece of paper with your child's name, class and teachers name and return these to Hilda in the Office before Wednesday 27th November 2013. Please put a note on your drawings if you and your child would like to help with this project.

Some things to bear in mind with the garden:
- this will be a quieter space away from the main yard - would you like to see fencing and if so what kind
- we would like to have a Willow Dome as a centre piece of the garden (see http://www.outdoorclassroom.ie/ for ideas)
- what kind of seating should we have
- the garden should be accessible to everyone so what kind of pathways should we have
- think about sensory areas and what these would look like e.g herb beds, long grasses, prickly plants, wind chimes, fruit bearing plants, etc
- wildlife and how to encourage it into our garden
- large and small places to chat and play games

We hope to begin work on our Gáirdín Cúin in the next couple of weeks and will be in touch to find volunteers, young and not so young to help bring this project to life!

Thanking you

Be Cool To Your School With This Special Offer From Kids Party Club.

A Thuismitheoirí,
I am pleased to introduce the Kids Party Club Card - just like those you get from the supermarkets but way more fun. With every party booking, you can nominate Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile to receive a free fundraising or educational show from Kids Party Club. You just need to mention Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile when confirming your party booking. We'll do the rest.
Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile will receive one Kids Party Club Card point with each nomination. Once your school has accumulated just 6 Kids Party Club Card points we will provide either a regular Kids Party Club party, (ideal for graduations, Christmas, fundraising events or just a fun break from regular classes), or a Kids Party Club educational show. Our educational puppet shows focus on healthy eating, encouraging children to read and the heralded anti-bullying show. Of course we'll let them know it was you who nominated Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile to receive the Kids Party Club Card point so you'll get the credit due. Our reading and anti-bullying shows are available as Gaeilge!
Kids Party Club have more than a dozen party puppet shows as well as the three educational shows. While always a great idea for birthdays, there are also three Christmas stories, a wedding reception show, the puppets X-Factor competition, Red Riding Hood with our unique twist, The King and the Donkey, and many others to choose from. Our parties include magic and a kiddies disco too!
When you book Kids Party Club entertainment you know that your child's school will also benefit. Tell your friends and neighbours about Kids Party Club Card - anyone can nominate Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile - and you'll have that free show (or two!) in no time at all. There's no limit to the number of shows your school can receive.
Feel free to call me if you would like more information concerning this offer. You can learn more about Kids Party Club at www.kidspartyclub.ie or email me at denis@kidspartyclub.ie and I will gladly answer any questions you might have.

The Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile Road Sign is pointing the wrong direction and the bolts holding it in place appear to be fully tightened so it cannot be easily moved back.

Can we get a volunteer to stop by the sign with some tools and adjust it so it points in the right direction again?

Just be careful as this is a very busy corner!
