Míle buíochas do Rang 2 agus Muinteoir Mairead for raising a whopping €415.35 in last Fridays (17th Feb 2017)  cake sale and as always thanks to all parents who send in those valuable euros with the kids for cake sale Fridays. It's a fun and effective way to raise funds for the school. The next cake sale will be after the Easter holidays.

Cake Sale Friday 17th February 2017

Rang 2 are hosting their cake sale tomorrow Friday 17th February 2017 a bit earlier than normal because we are on midterm next Friday. SO please remember to send in at least €1 with each child for a bun or cake. The next cake sale will be after Easter as there won't be a cake sale during Lent.

LSC Recreate Workshop – Release your child’s potential!

Children driving innovation for the future

Engineers week 2017 is running from the 4th to the 10th of March and is a week-long programme of nationwide events celebrating the world of engineering in Ireland. The aim of the week is to create a positive awareness of and spark enthusiasm about the engineering profession among young people with little or no engineering background.

LSC are holding a fun and creative event which will allow children to explore their creative side and develop an understanding for the potential of STEM as a course option at second level, while also promoting engineering as a career choice.

As a company founded by and staffed with Engineers (and Scientists) LSC are excited to be hosting two x 90 minute workshops to release the creative, innovative and inventive potential of children in Cork. Each workshop will involve your child working on a team and using recycled materials to design, build and test their creations. There will be a creative artist there during the event to facilitate the workshop and ensure the children have a great time.

This event is free to 5th & 6th class primary school students, but places are limited and you must register your child in advance.

One workshop will run at 2pm and the second one will run at 4pm please click below to register your child’s details.

80's Disco - Thank You

Thank you to everyone who supported the 80's disco. A fantastic night was had by all. The costumes were brilliant, the dance floor was hopping all night and one of our junior infant parents, Joseph, bagged the accolade of best dressed male! €590 was raised. This event is sure to be repeated so look out for it next spring.  Go raibh maith agat, PA

Gaelscoil kids perform in Comhaltas launch

Congratulations to our Gaelscoil pupils who played last night in the 55 member orchestra for the launch of the County Fleadh Ceoil which will be held in Kinsale from April 21st to 23rd 2017. Gearoid ,Eimhear and Áine Kearney, Mary-Claire and Catherine Murphy and Ted and Maisie O'Callaghan. Past pupils Michael and James Murphy and Alice O'Callaghan also played. Well done to all involved as it was a fantastic performance from kids from 7 to 17 years of age.
Maith sibh!!!

80's Disco Fundraiser is TOMORROW night - Friday 10th Feb 2017

Do not forget the 80's disco school fundraiser which is tomorrow night, Friday 10th Feb 2017 starting 8.30pm at Bacchus Nightclub in Kinsale.  Admission is €10.

Doodle4Google - Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile needs YOUR help!

We are delighted to announce that we have two finalists in this year’s Doodle4Google competition as Doodles by Archie Ó Ceilleacháin from Senior Infants and Juliette Nic an Taoisigh from Rang 1 have both been chosen for that shortlist.

Archie and Juliette along with 75 other finalists from around the country will travel to Google HQ in Dublin on 3rd April 2017 for the final and have a very good chance to win a €5,000 college scholarship and a €10,000 technology grant for the school.  The winning doodle will also appear on main google page for a week.

We however need YOUR HELP voting for BOTH Archie and Juliette EACH DAY over the coming weeks so that they are in with a chance of winning this great prize.  They are in different category groups so please vote for both of them each day.
