Kinsale pupils donate sleeping bags to Cork Simon by Alan Healy

CHILDREN in Kinsale are helping to alleviate the homeless crisis in Cork this Christmas after raising more than €3,000 for Cork Simon that was used to purchase sleeping bags.

The fifth and sixth class pupils of Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile held a coffee morning and cake sale last week and raised €3,070 for Cork Simon.

Happy Birthday Baby Jesus Celebration

This celebration takes place at 2pm on Christmas Eve 24th December 2017 in the Parish Church.  If any children have made cribs, can they please bring them to school for collection on Wednesday 20 December 2017. All children are welcome to dress up as shepherds and angels in the church on Christmas Eve. If anyone would like to bring birthday card to Happy Birthday Baby Jesus they are very welcome to do so & these will be collected on the day. If any family or friends can't be there on the day, they can watch it on the parish webcam at kinsaleparish.org

We are the artistic committee for the Simon Community Fundraiser 2017. We are sure you must have seen our beautiful posters up around Kinsale advertising last Friday’s coffee morning. So we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped us to raise €3,001.33 for Cork Simon Community. To those who baked, donated money, donated raffle prizes, who attended on the day, to the teachers for allowing us to do it, to Darren on our web team for taking the time to put up all our posts and a huge thank you to Carol for organizing this annual event.

We contacted Cork Simon today and once again they have asked us to buy sleeping bags again this year. They are delighted with the huge amount we raised and we are delighted that we can make some difference to our homeless people this winter. So Happy Christmas to all and a final thank you for your support from the children of 5th and 6th class.

Communications Committee

We are the Communication Committee for Gaelscoil’s Coffee Morning and Cake sale this Friday 15th December 2017 to raise much needed funds for CORK SIMON COMMUNITY. We are hoping that Friday will be a great success. We have already raised €300 through generous donations since we started our campaign.

We have also gathered up some great raffle prizes including 2 tickets to Munster v. Connacht rugby match in Thomond Park on 6th January 2018. Now wouldn’t that be a lovely stocking filler for someone on Christmas Day! So come along on Friday to buy some raffle tickets which will be selling like hot cakes!! Speaking of cakes we ask you all to bake or buy on Friday. Any donations of cakes will be gratefully received at the Temperance Hall on Friday morning from 8.30am onwards.

Please spread the word via email, Facebook and Twitter so that we get plenty of generous customers to buy our cakes. We look forward to seeing you Friday!

Coffee morning and Cake Sale in aid of Cork Simon Community

Students at Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile are hosting a coffee morning and cake sale aid of Cork Simon Community on Friday 15th of December 2017 from 9am to 1pm at Temperance Hall.

From this event last year the Gaelscoil bought 200 sleeping bags for the homeless people who are looked after by Cork Simon Community.

If are in Kinsale on Friday morning please stop by Temperance Hall to show your support for Cork Simon Community and Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile.

Advertising Committee - Simon Community Fundraiser 2017

We are the advertising committee for this years Simon Community Fundraiser. We have been really busy spreading the word about our Coffee Morning and cake sale this coming Friday 15th December 2017 in the Temperance Hall. We have placed posters all over town, we have contacted local and national radio stations, we have advertised on all local advertising means. So PLEASE come and join us for tea, coffee, scones, cakes on Friday morning in the Temperance Hall. All proceeds will go toward buying supplies for Cork Simon Community. Last year we raised €2,400 and bought 200 sleeping bags and we would love to raise more this year. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

We need as many raffle prizes as we can gather to make this fundraiser as successful as possible as we aim to raise more money than we raised last year to buy supplies for Cork Simon Community.
