Blankets of Hope 2018

Over the past few years, the children of Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile have taken part in the "blankets of hope" programme to create lovely blankets which we gave to people in our Cork hospitals as a comforter as they underwent chemo.

We have started again in 2018, and have made great progress as you can see! This year we are asking the 6^th class knitters to help 3^rd to 5^th class. They will go into the classes for an hour for 4 weeks after Easter in the hope that each of the classes will create their own blanket.

So dust off the knitting needles and make a start if you can over Easter. 20 stitches, 20 rows – to end up as a square.

Huge thanks to all the kids who have been busy knitting and the muinteoirí who are very supportive of this programme

Taithí iontach sa Ghaeltacht! Is cúrsa é seo atá eagraithe do scoláirí bunscoile amháin. Rithfidh an cúrsa ón Domhnach go dtí an Satharn i rith mí Iúil.  Deartha go sonrach don bhunleibhéal tugann an cúrsa taithí na Gaeltachta in atmaisféar spraíúil sábháilte. Tá na cúrsaí seo scartha ónar cúrsaí 2 & 3 seachtaine. Cosnaíonn na cúrsaí seo €330. Clúdaíonn sé seo lóistín & teagasc.

A wonderful Gaeltacht experience! The college organises a very popular course for primary pupils which runs Sunday to Saturday during July.  Tailored specifically for their age group this allows primary students to gain the benefits of the Gaeltacht experience in a safe and fun atmosphere. These courses are run separately to our 2 & 3 week courses. This course normally costs €330 (inclusive of accommodation & tuition)

Club na Mara CLOSED on Monday 5th March 2018

Club na Mara as a mark of respect to Orla Dockery,  Club na Mara will be CLOSED on Monday 5th March 2018. Orla was a very dear friend of mine and worked alongside me at our afterschool club for nearly 2 years. It is with a very sad heart that I will be attending her funeral service on Monday afternoon.

 Club will reopen as usual on Tuesday 6th March 2018.
