NPC news for week of 1st of March 2021

Online Transition from Primary to Post Primary sessions for parents Who are the Parents’ Association (PA) clinics for? Established Parents’ Associations who may be struggling right now Working Parents’ Associations who want to explore or share ideas for new activities. There will be a short presentation followed by the opportunity to ask questions and share your experience of what your PA is doing and some of the challenges you may be experiencing. We will be looking at how your PA is working during Covid-19 and the clinics will be held online on the following times: Monday 1st March, Tuesday 2nd March at 8pm Wednesday 3rd March at 10am and 8pm Register here to attend one of these FREE Parents’ Association Clinics. Parents Support Webinar Reminder

Dear All, Would you be so kind as to send this reminder to parents of your pupils please. We realise how busy households are at present and would like to offer some little support to parents. Parent Support webinar will take place via Zoom on Tuesday 23rd of February at 7pm and is free of charge. This webinar will explore how to support your child’s emotional wellbeing whilst also taking care of your own. To examine when and how to using calming strategies. Nicola Culloty is a primary school teacher with twenty years experience working with disadvantaged communities. As Home School Community Liaison she formed an authentic and lasting partnership with parents and is passionate about helping parents. Nicola completed a Masters in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is currently practising as a CBT therapist. She is very experienced on the impact of trauma on both adults and children and is proficient in the techniques used to overcome and assist those living with mental health issues. Nicola has facilitated parenting groups and worked closely with parents of children who have experienced trauma in her roles as teacher, therapist and HSCL. Dear Parents NPC Primary and NPC Post Primary have compiled a survey for parents of primary, post primary children and children with special educational needs to find out about your child’s and your own experience of their remote learning during the school closures.
