World Water Day Walks - An Abhainn Álainn

Dear Schools,

As part of celebrating United Nations World Water Day this coming week, we have designed a project entitled 'An Abhainn Álainn' with the Creativity & Change programme at the Crawford College of Art and Design.

We are inviting the public, schools, teachers and students to take a walk along their local river or waterway and support action to protect and restore our national and global water eco-systems.

On our website, https://anabhainnalainn.wordpress.com/ you will find our Zine to download and print out and a choice of hand-drawn, fold out maps (including Cork Marina) as well as online articles to engage with in more depth.

Please spread the word and enjoy your WaterWaysWalk and activities!

Kind regards,

Parents Centre website link

 Dear All,

I would like to share the following link with you and thanks to fellow network partner from Cork County Council, Lorraine Hogan, for bringing it to my attention.

https://www.gov.ie/en/campaigns/parents-centre/

The website brings together new and existing resources that parents may find helpful. It provides a starting point to access high-quality, trusted information and support. Parents Centre is easy to navigate and helps parents access the information and support they need quickly.

It may be a useful resource for you to share with your groups around the County if you have parents who need to access information, advice and one-to-one supports.

Kind regards,

Anne

FREE - NPC Anti Bullying online interactive workshops for parents

Dear Parents

National Parents Council Primary would like to invite you to attend our free online interactive workshops on “Anti Bullying”, a training programme by NPC designed to enable you to support your children regarding issues of bullying and to also inform you about the Anti Bullying Procedures.

Bullying is, unfortunately, a negative aspect of some children’s lives and can be a worry for many parents. Learning ways to deal with and cope with bullying situations is a key life skill that we all can develop. If you would like to learn more about preventing or addressing bullying behaviour or if you are worried about your child being bullied or bullying others, this session might be useful for you. It can give you tips on how to support your child in dealing with bullying situations. Information on the anti-bullying procedures in schools and discussion on different types of bullying, including cyber-bullying are also areas covered in the session.

The sessions are taking place next week, starting Monday the 22nd of March, online via Zoom at 10am Monday to Friday, and 8pm on Monday to Thursday.

Just click on the link below to register

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Anti-Bullying-Registration

Each session will have limited numbers for discussion and questions, and places will be offered on a first come first serve basis. Please contact training@npc.ie with any questions.
